Bought this hard drive 6months ago and all was well until 4 months into using it and one day everything - all my data, uni work, films music and pictures were gone! i thought maybe it was a one off incident but reading some of these reviews it seems something is SERIOUSLY wrong! but i have thankfully retrieved all my data using specialist software and i got a 1st at uni so life isnt all that bad - AVOID BUFFALO! (wish someone had told me that before buying)

My wife bought this for me over the x-mas period. I used it twice between then and now; a total of 12 hrs in that time; it began as a quiet device, but got nosy on my last usage and is no longer recognise by my computer. All my data is lost - well over 400 movies and 5,000 songs along with other stored data. I encouraged a colleague to get one when I got mine and 4 months of having it he experienced what I am now experiencing. Rubbish device. I have no way of having it replace as the receipt cannot be found. As a customer I expect value, as well as service for money.
good idea, bad product!

i bought it for about £100 and was a good price, but everything went down hill. first thing is that even on a vista computer it would take several minutes to reconise it was there, so on xp computers its even slower! and the worst thing was the plug. mine broke after three months cause of the "handy" multi plug so it can be used in eu or uk so it easily broke. my advice spend abit extra and get a decent harddrive, even if it has less space, it would be more durable and less likerly to break.
